In Russia, will begin production of QLED TVs

Samsung TV panels have been launched in the Kaluga Region since 2008: the South Korean giant has built a factory to supply the Russian market with home appliances of its own brand. At the beginning of April 2017, the company management in the Russian Federation announced the launch of a new production line - QLED TVs of Q7, Q8 and Q9 series.

What is QLED

If you look globally, this technology was created in contrast to OLED from LG. OLED TVs have rapidly captured the market, this is especially evident when analyzing sales in North America: their share was almost 80%, if we consider screens larger than 55 inches. To keep up with the competitor, Samsung began to promote its development of QLED. The first steps in this direction were made at CES 2015, where new panels with by technology Quantum Dot (quantum dots). In 2016, Samsung has already brought 2 generation of such TVs with advanced parameters.

Despite similar names, the principle of operation of technologies is significantly different.OLED works on organic light-emitting diodes, which tend to fade with time. QLED - this is, in fact, an upgraded LED panel, on which a special thin-film nano-coating has been applied. Its properties make it possible to achieve a perfectly deep black color. In addition, the peak brightness of the screen will be up to 2000 nits, which will allow you to enjoy a juicy picture even in strong sunlight. If we talk about viewing angles, here and there everything is fine: the image does not become faded, from which side you would not look at it.

The color gamut of TV panels with QLED technology is 99% of the DCI-P3 color space, which indicates their ability to deliver real color regardless of brightness.

The advantages of the Russian assembly

Today in Russia it is already possible to buy QLED TVs, but their range is rather scarce, and the price starts from 89 thousand rubles. The general director of the plant, Lee Hwang Kyun, noted that with the launch of production in the Kaluga region, Samsung will open a new stage in capturing the domestic consumer with the help of high technologies. Russians are among the first in the world to appreciate the availability and at the same time amazing quality of QLED.This was made possible thanks to the high quality standards used in the manufacture of machinery.

It is worth noting that in Russia only the assembly of TV panels will be carried out, and all components for them will be supplied ready-made.
