Connecting electric stove with their own hands
Many modern houses are not gasified, so their tenants have no choice: you can install only an electric stove. Of course, it is recommended to do this with the help of the wizard, as there are many nuances of connection. If you do decide to do it without the help of professionals, we will tell you how to connect the electric plate yourself.

Site preparation
Before you connect the electric stove, you must choose the right location on the kitchen space - for this you need to follow simple rules.
- The installation site must be level so that, when adjusted with the legs, it can ensure its stable position relative to the horizontal.
- Wire length it is necessary to select such that freely, if necessary, move household appliances away from the wall without disconnecting it from the network.
- Users need to remember that a hot oven can heat up to 100 ° C, so the stove should not be placed near the refrigerator.
- When embedded in a kitchen set, it is necessary to protect the plastic panels from overheating during operation of the appliance.
- In close proximity to induction cooker it is better not to place other electrical devices - its electromagnetic field will affect their quality work. Read more about this. here.
When choosing a place, the umbrella of the exhaust system, which should be located above or behind the hob, may be the decisive factor, depending onhood type.
Primary requirements
Installation and proper connection of the electric stove may fail, if you do not follow the special rules for installing electrical household appliances.
Important! If you perform all the connection steps yourself, you can lose the right to warranty service of equipment in the service center.
In the conditions of a modern city apartment, all the work is easy to perform - there the builders have already installed a special outlet or transfer case. This saves time and allows you to quickly connect an electric stove. But homeowners of private buildings or tenants of old apartments will have to do everything themselves, strictly following the recommendations so that the installation and subsequent connection to the home network of the electric stove was done on a professional level.
Materials required for work:
- three-core cable with a section of 4-6 mm - it depends on its length: the longer, the thicker the section to withstand stress;
- separate machine in the shield in order to properly connect household appliances (they buy it at 32 or 40A, which depends on the cable section);
- UZO - A safety device that protects expensive equipment from overvoltage;
RCD and automatic shutdown are the essential components of the electrical connection circuit concept, regardless of its model. They are the ones who will save your assistant from quite frequent voltage drops in the urban electrical network.Install them on a single rail rail to the counter, the nominal value of the RCD is always greater than the machine. Also need to do near the house grounding.
Cable installation
If the builders brought out only a three-core cable, then you will need to install a special outlet for an electric stove or a terminal box. piercing the grooves in the wall to deepen the cable - these works require certain skills and take a lot of time, but as a result the apartment interior will not suffer, and the cable will be hidden in the wall. Before this, the user must decide which type of connection will be relevant:
- connect directly;
- installation of the transfer case;
- installation of the outlet.
Directly
Experts consider such an electrical cooker connection the safest, because the absence of additional wires greatly reduces the risk of overheating technology. In new buildings, builders very often do not bother themselves with all sorts of boxes and sockets - they leave the cable insulated, and let the future tenants decide the rest.
Through terminal box
Connecting electric stove with their own hands in the absence of a plug on the wire (this situation is typical for many modern models) is possible with the use of a terminal box or transfer case, which is present in new luxury apartments. This box is installed on the kitchen wall at a level not lower than 60 cm from the floor, and the stove should be placed no further than 2 m from it.
It can be made of metal or a fairly strong plastic, the top is closed with a lid.
Inside there is already a connection to the home network, you just have to figure out how to connect the electric range. The scheme is quite simple: the black wire is the phase, the blue one is zero, and the yellow one is grounding. We connect all three wires to the box, focusing on the color scheme, and it turns out as shown in the photo.
Check the tightening of the connecting screws and close the cover. As a result of our actions should turn out, as in the photo below.
Through the socket
The next type of connection of electrical devices to the network is the installation of a special configuration socket and mandatory grounding.
Today in the kitchen using sockets of three main types.
- Russian development with the top location of the ground wire, its entrance is rotated 90 ° to the remaining two holes.
- Production of the Republic of Belarus - here all contacts are rotated 120 °.
- European type - two contacts of circular cross section, and the grounding is flat and located at the bottom of the device. This is an outdated option, because now many countries have switched to their personal types of outlets.
If there is no need to do the wiring, then the installed outlet in the kitchen should be checked with a special device for determining the phase.
Wiring diagrams
Standard connection schemes do not depend on the chosen method of connecting the equipment to the home network and there are three types: one, two or three phase. If your stove is rated for 220V, then you need to use the first option, and if it is 380V, then the second and third options are used.
To find out the wiring diagram for the purchased plate, it is necessary to unscrew the protective cover on the terminal box from the back side - all possible options are indicated on it.
One phase
To single phase network connection is made in urban apartments high-rise buildings, where all wiring is performed using a three-core wire. To connect the new home appliances without errors, you need to use special copper jumpers At least 6 mm in cross section - they are usually present in distribution boxes.If for some reason they are missing, then they can easily be bought in an electrical goods store. The connection is made as follows:
- we connect the bus screws number 1, 2, 3 with the symbol L;
- the second bus connects screws number 4 and 5, marked with the letter N;
- The remaining free screw with letters PE is used to connect the ground connection.
Wires should be distributed in the following way:
- black or brown wire is a phase, connect to terminals L 1, 2 and 3;
- blue or zero - fixed at number 1 and 2;
- green - grounding fastened to the appropriate terminal.
The established connection procedure has been developed by electrical engineers in the field of electrical appliances and is not subject to discussion.
Two phase connection
This scheme is most often used in private homes, but you can apply it in the apartment, when the wiring consists of a wire with four wires. In this case, put the jumper between screw number 1 and L1, the second - screws N4 and N5, and the screw L2 and for grounding remains free (see diagram 2N). How to connect the wires shown in the photo:
- the yellow wire is connected to the jumper L1 and L2 terminals - this is A phase;
- red core - to terminal L3, phase C;
- blue winding - to the jumper zero terminals № 4 and 5;
- green wire is standard grounding.
Users need to remember that the plug with this connection is used with four pins.
Three phases
This type of connection is used only in private houses or very old buildings, in modern apartments practically not used. External complexity should not frighten the home master - the implementation of this connection is quite easy to accomplish with accurate implementation of recommendations.
The installed version uses a cable of non-standard cross-section with the number of cores of 4 or 5 pieces, while only one bus is used for zero terminals No. 1 and 2, the cores must be connected in this order:
- phase A - the yellow wire is connected to the contact L1;
- B - contact L2, lived with a winding green;
- C - L3, red wire;
- N - blue wire goes to the bus of zero contacts;
- The ground wire is connected to a similar terminal.
Before you turn on the stove, check connection of all burners electric stoves (the circuit of their connection is in the instruction manual). Such scruples will save you from a short circuit, which can occur due to the fact that during transportation the wiring connection in one of the terminals has become weak.
After installing the plate in place of the permanent dislocation, we turn it on - the indicator that is located on the control panel will notify you of the correct operation.
That's the whole method of self-connecting electric range, which is not too different from the connection of any electrical household appliance. Similarly connects and induction hob. Anyone who wants to watch this video before starting work:
