A non-fireable battery has been created.
Japanese scientists have created batteries for gadgets and other devices that have higher power and are not at risk of ignition.
We are talking about the innovative form of the mixture for the electrolyte, making it absolutely non-combustible and at the same time allowing to preserve the quality characteristics of the battery.
This compound is called trimethyl phosphate. A battery with such an electrolyte is able to withstand 1000 or more charge cycles. Due to the increased salt concentration, the substance is less volatile and, as a result, it maintains a high voltage on the anodes.
Tests have shown that the new battery is able to withstand temperatures. up to 150Сthat completely eliminates the risk of fire. But even if it happens, the special structure of the trimethyl phosphate compound will make it possible to extinguish it in a matter of a fraction of a second, preventing serious damage.
Thus, in this variant of the battery, the electrolyte is not only a fuel for operation, but also an excellent means for extinguishing a potential fire.
In the event that the creators of the novelty receive all the necessary permissions and patents to implement their inventions into real life, manufacturers of various technical devices (gadgets, smart home systems, electric vehicles) are likely to be interested in the technical updating of their products.
