Created a balloon that allows a person to fly into the stratosphere
Specialists from Singapore intend to launch a manned balloon into the stratosphere. This was announced by Lim San, head of the company In.Genius.
26 pilots submitted their applications for participation in the first test flight of the new invention. The selected candidate has already been approved and is undergoing pre-flight training.
The experiment is planned as follows. The pilot is placed in a stratostat - a special capsule fixed on the ball itself. Inside the capsule, the parameters necessary for normal vital activity will be maintained - comfortable air temperature of 20-25 degrees, stable pressure. This will allow the pilot to overcome the altitude of almost 20,000 meters above sea level without devastating consequences for the body. Under normal conditions, without the inclusion of additional equipment, a person simply boils blood at such heights.
Initially, it was planned to carry out the planned project and dedicate it to the 50th anniversary of Singapore in 2015. However, by this time, In.Genius had not had time to complete the procedure for obtaining the appropriate permission to fly, and the stratostatus itself was not yet ready for this moment. As a result, the launch was postponed.
In 2016, was launched unmanned capsule, and a little later mice were placed in it. The animals spent in the capsule for almost two hours. The tests were considered successful. The flight of the capsule with the pilot is scheduled for the middle of this year. It is expected that the start will occur next to one of the Australian cities. A total of about $ 8 million will be spent on the project.
