Switzerland plans to use drones in the health care system
By the end of 2017, the Swiss company Matternet plans to launch a network of drones that will link various medical institutions in the country - hospitals, ambulance stations, laboratories.
The developers claim that the process of the operation of aircraft will be automated to such an extent that there will be no need to complete the network of institutions with additional employees. For example, sending materials for analysis to the laboratory will be carried out as follows. The doctor places the material for research in the container and through a special application installed on his gadget, calls the drone. After scanning the barcode on the container, it is loaded into the aircraft. At the next stage, the drone independently finds the addressee and delivers the package to it, we will notify in advance about the delivery time.
All the drones of the system will be managed by a special program. It will find the shortest paths between the points of movement of the devices, involve only those devices that have the battery charge necessary for the task, and perform many other functions.
The use of drones will allow you to more effectively organize the process of interaction between the participants of the health care system, shorten the time for delivery of drugs and save doctors time. Subsequently, a properly organized process can significantly reduce the costs of servicing institutions related to transportation costs and the work of the serving medical staff.
