Charging a mobile phone with sunlight is already a reality!
Hungarian start-up company Platio has launched tiled panels that can convert solar energy into electrical energy.
For almost two years, specialists worked on the invention, and finally, the efforts were crowned with success. The panels are a combination of photovoltaic tiles, covered with high strength glass. All chips and wires are safely hidden inside. Of particular importance from an environmental point of view, the project has acquired also because the tile is made using plastic waste.
From a practical point of view, of particular interest to ordinary people Deak Square, located in the hungarian capital. Thanks to the photovoltaic elements built into the benches, each gadget owner can, while walking, sit on the bench, charge his smartphone with the energy of the sun, using both a usb input and a wifi connection.
Another platform for the demonstration of technology has become one of the shopping centers of Astana. Almost 80 square meters. m surface, lined with photovoltaic tiles, capable of producing power of approximately 12 kW. This innovation significantly reduced the cost of a large facility for the power supply of its territory.
The tile can be used on any surfaces - the polymer coating facilitates the maintenance procedure, makes the structural elements impact-resistant and wear-resistant.
In conditions of increased attention to inventions that can reduce the expenditure of exhaustible natural resources in favor of the transition to inexhaustible sources of energy from many countries, the Platio project has all the chances for further development. The company's management is already negotiating the supply of panels to Sweden for arranging the territories of the ports.
