Now you can ride around Moscow on a BMW electric car.
One of the operators providing car-sharing services in Moscow (renting a car for a short-term lease) has acquired several electric vehicles of the BMW brand. The purchase cost the company 25 million rubles.
Given the high cost of the acquisition, in order to recoup the costs in time acceptable for business, it was decided to install the rent for each such electric vehicle - 1000 rubles per hour. In this case, according to management, the cost of daily rent will not exceed 12,000 rubles. The price is considerable, and it is not yet known whether there will be anyone willing to ride a luxury car for the money. Moreover, when renting there will be certain restrictions. So, on weekdays, BMW will only be able to move within the Third Ring Road, on weekends - 250 km outside the Moscow Ring Road.
Moscow is the only city in our country in which at least some infrastructure exists that allows electric vehicles to move freely. The city authorities are doing everything possible to develop this area.
Currently in the Russian capital there are 80 points designed for charging electric vehicles, special parking is under construction.
In the summer of 2017 in Moscow drove only 365 electric cars. It is hoped that the development of appropriate infrastructure, as well as the improvement of the technical characteristics of electric vehicles, which allow to overcome long distances without recharging, will lead to an increase in the number of owners of this type of transport.
