A flying motorcycle is already a reality. The latest development of Russian specialists
HoverSurf has introduced a Russian-made HoverBike S3 motorcycle. His first public tests took place the other day at one of the airfields near Moscow. During the test, the vehicle rose to a meter height and covered a distance of 1 km.
The design of the motorcycle is something average between quadcopter and motorcycle. From the latter, the seat and the overall concept are taken, the wheels replace two pairs of screws mounted on the brackets, the controls are the joysticks. At the moment the vehicle is equipped with a battery designed for half an hour of continuous flight. The time required to charge the battery is 4 hours, the height to which the device is able to climb is 5 meters.
For safety reasons, the pilot puts on a check, which allows the power to be turned off in the event of an emergency. HoverBike is not yet equipped with airbagsThe vehicle can reach speeds of up to 70 km / h, controlled by one of three possible options - from the console, via joysticks or via GPS coordinates. The device can operate at deep sub-zero temperatures, freely fit into doorways and use a simple parking space as a platform for take-off.
The main goal pursued by the developers, creating an unusual aircraft, was the possibility of solving in this way the problems of traffic jams.
However, in the Russian context, such a project is unlikely to be able to be implemented in the coming years. First, to obtain the rights to control such a vehicle, the pilot will need to obtain a special license. Secondly, zones prohibiting any flights are widespread throughout Russia, and Moscow, for example, is completely closed for such innovations.
However, HoverSuft continues to work on his invention. At present, they have created three versions of “flying vehicles” - cargo transport carriers, flying motorcycles and taxis. One of the major banks became interested in developing and is ready to invest in the project a huge amount that can cover the costs of further experiments and bring motorcycles to the market.According to preliminary estimates, if such a vehicle goes on sale, then its cost can reach 80 thousand dollars.
