On the armament of the Russian Navy receives a new improved unmanned complex
On the Crimean sea range began to test the unmanned complex "Harpsichord-2". It is the latest model of military equipment designed to solve multi-purpose tasks.
According to the Chief Command of the Russian Navy, the complex is undergoing test checks in the city of Feodosia. The ship "Viktor Cherokov" belonging to the project 20360ОС, which the Black Sea Fleet has received for service recently, takes part in the tests.
“Harpsichord-2” is a representative of the second generation of uninhabited atomic-type complexes produced in the Russian Federation. In appearance, the vessel is a submarine of reduced size with a length of 7 meters, the diameter of the vehicle is 1 meter, and the weight is approximately 4 tons. The vessel is capable of sinking to a 6-kilometer depth.
Large dimensions made it possible to increase the autonomy of the machine (in comparison with the previous version). On board is the advanced modern equipment and appliances. For delivery of the "Harpsichord" to the final destination, nuclear-powered submarines of a special format will be used. The range of action after the "undock" will be more than 50 km.
The port of Feodosia was a good base for testing. It is expected that the test site will continue to be used to test the latest models of naval equipment.
