In the US, prohibit the sale of devices with built-in batteries

The authorities of the United States announced their intention to ban the sale of smartphones with a built-in battery. The corresponding bill passes the procedure of checks before the final vote.

The author of the bill was Jeff Morris. He stated his desire to protect consumers from unscrupulous manufacturers for a long time. After all, some brands initially create devices that require a complete replacement of the battery when it fails.

 Smartphone

The story received a continuation in the form of a draft law after the scandal with Apple. Not so long ago, the company's management was accused of deliberately slowing down their smartphones, which was explained by the use of batteries that had become unusable. Since iPhones do not have the ability to replace the battery, the owners are forced to purchase new devices, the cost of which is quite impressive.

If a new law is enacted, a ban on the sale of smartphones, tablets, e-books and other similar devices will come into effect if their design does not provide for a removable battery. Restrictions will not affect mini-devices - watches, headphones, electronic bracelets, the dimensions of which do not allow to separate the battery from the case.

Similar laws are considered already in 17 states. Their introduction is designed to protect the owners of gadgets from unfair actions on the part of sellers, as well as significantly simplify the repair procedure.
