LG introduced the Cord Zero cordless vacuum cleaner at CES 2017
At the beginning of the current year, LG Electronics presented to the visitors a new model of the Cord Zero “Canister” and “Handstick” vacuum cleaners. Within international exhibition CES 2017dedicated to the latest technologies and electronics, as well as new home appliances, the manufacturer has demonstrated a fundamentally new and improved models of premium.
In the Handstick and Canister models from LG Electronics, several modern technologies crossed at once:
- Axial Turbo Cyclone - an innovative suction system that generates swirling air;
- Smart Inverter Motor - a powerful asynchronous inverter motor;
- Dual PowerPack - a pair of high-power lithium-ion batteries;
- Anti-tangle - the technological self-cleaning brush;
- Power Drive Nozzle is a technology for concentrating air flow when a brush touches any surface.
According to the company’s president, D. Song, progressive vacuum technologies were integrated into the design, which made it possible to create the most functional home appliances that could create maximum comfort in the house.

Handstick design and construction
Appearance is not the most critical factor for home appliances, but not in the case of new products from LG. Cord Zero “Handstick” handheld cordless vacuum cleaners impress with their simple Hi-Tech design and unusual design. Vertical Handstick models lack wires, allowing easy device control. Maneuverability is complemented by intelligent weight distribution, an adjustable telescopic bar and an ergonomic handle.
Let's move from external to internal, vacuum cleaners are remarkable not only for their futuristic design, but also for their powerful, productive, and most importantly, durable Smart Inverter Motor. The design of the container vacuum cleaner Handstick is a high achievement of engineering, the manufacturer literally “compartment” everything superfluous, maximally simplifying and reducing the size of a household appliance. The brushless inverter motor is compact and located on the vacuum cleaner bar next to the handle. The small size does not prevent him from creating super-powerful vortex air flows, which allows the vacuum cleaner to easily capture large and fine dust, various allergens.
Interesting! At full folding of a bar, the household vacuum cleaner can be used as automobile. Due to power independence and compact size, the device is easy to carry in a small bag. In addition, such small sizes will allow to put things in order in hard-to-reach places and limited spaces.
The device operates from lithium ion batteries. Two 72V Dual PowerPack removable batteries ensure stable operation without power loss for 80 minutes, which is quite enough even for cleaning a large area. The manufacturer took care of its customers by choosing this type of battery. Lithium-ion batteries are distinguished by the absence of a memory effect, which will allow charging them not for a full cycle, but, for example, by half. In addition, this type has advantages such as low weight. Subsequently, the replacement of batteries is not difficult, removable batteries are easily removed without the need to contact a specialized service center.
The unique system of suction and air filtration Handstick
Axial Turbo Cyclone Suction System generates circular air currents like a tornado, but at the same time the device is quiet and does not create vibration. Vacuuming is easy to control without the use of excessive physical force. The installed 5-step air filtration system is equipped with an improved HEPA 13 filter. All air masses coming through the brush of the vacuum cleaner pass through the bar and then through the improved air cleaning system. The filter retains even the fine dust, effectively cleaning the air in the room.
Additional 3D-turbofan designed according to the principle of a turbine engine. Its rotation is 16 times the engine speed of the Boeing 747 and is capable of creating powerful air currents, which is the most important indicator for cleaning household appliances. Needless to say, dust cleaning has now become more efficient.
Robotic canister
This new product from the famous manufacturer created in a more familiar version, but has its own unique differences. Like the Handstick, Canister was the result of a combination of unique, state-of-the-art technologies, intelligently combined in one device. The usual design has no wires, and therefore does not depend on the electrical network directly. Unlike previous models, the novelty has a more capacious rechargeable batteries and is able to work longer than its predecessors.
Inverter engine Smart Inverter Motor in power and performance is not inferior to wired models. Efficiency is achieved by minimizing energy loss while converting input energy to suction energy. Thus, the novelty can rightfully be considered the best in the line of analogues.
The handle of the vacuum cleaner Opti-balanced Handle is a separate achievement of the manufacturer, its design has successfully passed the certification of the American Association of US Ergonomics. Ideally thought-out ergonomics is expressed in maximizing the load on the hands and back of the user, while maintaining impeccable maneuverability.
The air filtration system is somewhat more efficient than the Handstick model. The seven-speed HEPA 14 filter successfully retains even ultra-fine dust, cleaning the indoor air. Not every premium segment model can boast of this kind, which makes Canister the leader among similar devices.
Smart System LG RoboSense 2.0
A cordless vacuum cleaner is interesting not only by the potential maneuverability that lithium-ion batteries provide, but also by practical ones. The device will independently follow the user, which will relieve from periodic movement or rolling of the vacuum cleaner. Built-in front sensor allows you to go around obstacles.
It would not be correct to compare such a model with the usual vacuum cleaners operating from the network, if RoboSense 2.0 did not provide such comfort during use. Device control is thought out to the smallest detail, unlike old-fashioned instruments, operation and ergonomics meet all modern requirements, if not to say that they are ahead of expectations.
New in 2017 clearly demonstrate the progressive views of engineers and the endless possibilities of appliances for the home. Modern technological home appliances are not only aimed at reducing the labor costs of a person, they are capable of doing something that a person cannot physically do. And they do it perfectly.
