Soon the food can be printed on the printer
At the recent Experimental Biology conference, South Korean experts presented the technology of printing food on a 3D printer. The device is capable of reproducing nutrient material in accordance with the previously designated parameters of form, content and texture.
The project manager, Professor Ri Jin-kui, said that they had managed to create a unique platform that allowed them to print dietary fiber according to specified parameters. Because of this, it became possible to take into account the individual characteristics of the potential consumer and make the product specifically for him.
The professor believes that in the very near future there will be special cartridges with crushed products that can be mixed and processed according to individual taste preferences.
The possibility of 3D printing of food will reduce the amount of food waste on earth and significantly reduce the cost of ready meals, because the use of technology allows you to "zero" the cost of storage and transportation. In addition, the ability to print food can significantly save on products in an ever-growing consumption.
Scientists presented a prototype of a 3D printer that allows you to create food with physical characteristics identical to natural products. In addition to taste parameters, the device allows you to set in advance rates of absorption. Regular food does not provide such an opportunity.
Experts are counting on the introduction of their inventions into real life in the very near future.
