Soon there will be a flying taxi
Specialists from Workhorse presented a flying taxi. The car was named SureFly. For the first time the draft of the aircraft was presented back in June last year, the results of the first flight were published a few days ago.
At the heart of the unusual taxi is the power plant, which includes a high-power gasoline generator (power is about 200 hp). The estimated weight of potential passengers is 180 kg, while the distance the car can travel is more than 110 km.
Initially, the first flight was scheduled for January of this year. It was supposed to hold it at the annual CES exhibition in Las Vegas, but the weather conditions made their adjustments.
As a result, a demonstration performance took place the other day in Ohio near the city of Cincinnati. The car rose into the air to a symbolic height of 0.5 meters. The creators claim that this is more than enough for the first flight. It is not yet known how long it will take the specialists to implement the project in real life.
In addition to the flying taxi, Workhorse is known for its developments in the field of creating pickups and electric vans, from the roofs of which drones can take off.
