New unmanned bus will soon appear on the roads of China and Japan

The Chinese Internet corporation Baidu has announced an established mass production of Apolong unmanned buses.

By now, the hundredth instance of the model has come out of the conveyor, which is equipped with an improved version of autopilot 4 levels. The brainchild of the Chinese car industry has become the first serial representative of autonomous buses on the electric drive.

The shuttle itself was created by King Long, and the autonomous driving system built into the car was developed by Baidu. For two years, the manufacturer introduced several versions of the autopilot, its final version is version 3.0.

The capacity of the new bus is 14 passengers. The body of the machine is made of special composite materials, the upper part of the body is rounded. The model is equipped with the necessary devices for efficient and safe operation - radars, cameras, sensors.

Shuttle production is established in the southeastern city of Xiamen.The developers intend to present their model at the Baidu conference in November of this year. Initially, buses will start to ply in the parks and airports of some Chinese cities. After the geography of their trips will expand. And next year, part of the shuttle will be transferred to neighboring Japan.
