Smartphones will start repairing themselves.
Motorola has received a patent for an invention that allows repairing damaged screens of smartphones without involving service centers in the process. To achieve this opportunity, mobile device screens will be manufactured using special polymers, equipped with the ability to remember the original state of the surface and restore it after damage through temperature effects.
In order to start this process, the user of the gadget will need to simply indicate the place where a crack or chip has formed, then the smartphone will do everything on its own. It is configured to work from the heat emanating from a person, or from the radiation of an external energy storage device. Manufacturers promise a high level of efficiency of “tightening” cracks when using either of the two options.
In addition to objective factors relating to the complexity of the implementation of the technical component of the invention, there are also subjective aspects that can hinder the development of the original idea. The fact is that in case of successful testing, the service centers will almost certainly interfere with its practical implementation. And they can be understood, because now we can assume the size of the profit they have not received due to the sharp reduction in the number of gadgets being transferred for repair.
