New advanced robot dragon from Japanese engineers
Specialists of the Japanese University, located in Tokyo, have created an unmanned vehicle, the appearance of which resembles a dragon. The name drone received the corresponding - DRAGON.
The robot consists of several parts, it is able to transform and change its shape right in the air. Each section of the aircraft is a separate mechanism with a propeller. This technical structure provides independent movement of each part, although outwardly the robot looks like a single whole.
Software operating in semi-autonomous mode is able to determine what position the robot body should assume, in accordance with the task of the program, a transformation takes place.
At the moment, the version of the device contains 4 independent parts. In the future, the creators plan to increase the number of building blocks to 20. The presence of a large number of segments will allow DRAGON to move freely in hard-to-reach areas.Such robots will be able to participate in rescue operations, dismantle debris, work as scouts.
