Robots will become full members of US military units

The American company Raytheon has begun to develop a neural network, allowing to establish a logical chain between the decisions made by robots and their actions. An order for such a development came from the US Department of Defense.

The military units of the United States in the near future plan to equip combat robots. At the moment it is difficult to imagine, but experts claim that the machines will work in a team with people on absolutely equal terms. Such statements cause the soldiers a completely understandable concern, because cars near people are still perceived as something threatening and unpredictable. In order to establish potential trust between members of future divisions, it was decided to create a specialized neural network.

The project was named XAI, its main goal is to create a high-speed network,tracking and demonstrating decision making.

The algorithm will be applied to combat vehicles. In other words, the robot will now explain why he made this or that decision before taking a certain action.

In that case, if the mechanism of operation of the machine becomes clear, it will become safer for others, which means that the level of people's confidence in robots will also increase. Thanks to the network it will be possible to make robots full-fledged members of the team, giving them the authority to make the most responsible decisions.
