Soon a compact electric car printed on a 3D printer will go on sale
Shanghai and Italian experts presented a sample of teamwork - a car, the components of which are printed on a 3D printer.
The authors of the idea were the developers of Polymaker (manufacturers of components for 3D printers) and representatives of the XEV startup specializing in the manufacture of electric vehicles.
The new compact electric car, called LSEV, looks similar to the Smart Car, but in terms of dimensions it is even smaller. All components are new, with the exception of glass, seats and chassis, printed on a three-dimensional printer. The car can accelerate to 80 km / h and cover a distance of 150 km on a single battery charge. The low maximum speed and compact dimensions make the car a convenient option for moving within megalopolises.
5 thousand copies of LSEV are already reserved by the Italian postal service, 2000 - ordered by the French representative for leasing operations.
The release of new electric vehicles will begin at the end of this year, the first deliveries are scheduled for the middle of the next. The estimated cost of the model is $ 10,000. Currently, the production cycle for the production of one copy lasts three days, the creators intend to improve the process and significantly reduce the time spent. At the same time, the car consists of only 57 spare parts, in contrast to the 20,000 components that most modern models are endowed with.
