MICS system for information exchange between ships - new domestic development
The specialists of the St. Petersburg company "Inteltech" created a communication system for ships. It combines stations, mobile phones and sensors that assess the physiological state of team members. The system is called MIX - a multifunctional integrated communication complex.
MIX was the first development to provide wireless communication between vessels for various purposes under water and above water. Before that, there was only a fixed connection inside the objects, which made it difficult to exchange data.
The multifunctional complex provides telephone exchange of information inside the ship, a loudspeaker broadcasting important messages for the crew, video surveillance and monitoring of the crew’s condition. MICS also works outside the ship, its external functionality includes: telephone and telegraph communications, file sharing, video conferencing.
From the point of view of design, the complex is an alliance of numerous systems interconnected, each of which is adapted to the purpose and functionality of a particular vessel. So, for small cruisers, there are some subsystems, but for aircraft carrier groups - completely different.
A single structure allowed to combine screens, phones, sensors, command terminals, physical sensors into one large chain. Such an opportunity not only facilitates interaction within the ships and between them, but also provides the ability to monitor the status of entire groups of objects. MIX was created completely domestic, i.e. all the designs and most of the structural elements are made in Russia.
