Fan with air humidifier - an economical option for effective air conditioning
In recent years, the market of household appliances has undergone significant changes, they also touched the devices responsible for ventilation and air conditioning in rooms. Few people use a fan these days, it is considered a relic of the past, gathering dust on balconies and in closets. And meanwhile, the manufacturers of fans are not going to give them up, supplying the device with greater capabilities and expanded functionality. The fan with an air humidifier is a relatively new version that appeared on the market a little more than ten years ago, but already conquered a certain market segment.

Principle of operation
The external device of the fan has not changed significantly over its entire existence.Moisturizing is no exception. The feature of the device is that the humidifier is hidden in the stand, there is also a water tank. Steam moves through the hose to the center, where ventilated air is picked up and spread around the sides.
There are three main modes of operation of such devices:
- no moisture;
- humidification is regulated manually;
- automatic activation of the humidification system.
There is a choice of blowing speed and the use of indicators that signal the mode of operation, water level and other parameters.
Among the additional interesting options, you can highlight the device off in the absence of people in the room, lights, hours.
Advantages and disadvantages
The device has the following advantages:
- The possibility of a soft temperature adjustment while maintaining the required level of humidity.
- Low weight and mobility, allowing you to move the device to any place in the house. All models are usually equipped with wheels, which facilitate this process even more.
- Easy to install.
- The ability to use not only in completely enclosed areas, as is the case with air conditioning.
- Low energy consumption and environmental friendliness.
- An alternative use is as an aromatic lamp, you can add a few drops of your favorite oil in a container with water, and the room will be filled with a pleasant aroma.
- Low cost.
With all its advantages, a fan with a humidifier has a very significant disadvantage.
Compared to air conditioners and split systems, the ability of the device to cool is significantly lower.
In order to significantly reduce the temperature, need to increase humidity almost to the maximum possible limit. And this, naturally, leads to the appearance of condensate on surfaces and, moreover, is not comfortable for the human body.
Types of devices
Fans with a humidifier are divided into several types:
- Traditional. They are supplied with a replaceable filter made of ordinary paper, which allows air to pass through while moistening it.
- Steam. Heat the water to high values, causing it to evaporate. Such models are able to increase the humidity in the room up to 60%.
- Ultrasound. The principle of operation is reduced to the ingress of water on a vibrating plate, the vibration breaks the droplets into small particles, with the formation of steam.
How to create a moisturizing fan do it yourself
Part of the uniqueness of the device lies in the fact that it is quite realistic to recreate it with your own hands, which you cannot do, for example, with air conditioning. In order to do this, you will need embroidery hoops, a towel, any fan running and 4 plastic clothespins.
The procedure is as follows:
- We fix the towel in the hoop.
- With the help of pegs, we fix this construction in the center of the fan so that the free edge of the towel goes down.
- Dip this edge in a container filled with water.
Humidification function is implemented through wet towel and evaporation of moisture due to airflow. In parallel, the towel material is cooled and, as a result, the flow itself is cooled. Here is such a primitive, at first glance, version of the device, which has its right to exist in certain conditions and in certain circumstances.
As you can see, the fan is not a device that has gone down in history, cooling the room that we inherited from our ancestors, but a completely modern version of ventilation and air conditioning. Additional functionality with which manufacturers fill modern devices, in particular, the humidification function,allow you to use them everywhere, creating maximum comfort and convenience in the rooms where you live and work.
