It became possible to heat the apartment through the window glass

Specialists from the Swedish University in Gothenburg presented the technology that allows to turn the windows of street windows into batteries that can heat the rooms.

The basis of innovative coverage is plasmons. After drying, such a surface turns into a nano-antenna, which is able to absorb sunlight and heat up due to it. Theoretically, such a coating can be used anywhere, not only on window glass. However, in practice, glass surfaces are ideal for nanocoatings. The presence of additional material does not affect the light transmission ability of windows, so it can be used everywhere.

The author of the invention, Alexander Dmitriev, is counting on the massive use of new technology.

Currently, the use of glass is extremely common in the construction industry.If you can turn them into heating elements, it will give impetus to the emergence of new objects and the improvement of existing ones.

In the future plans of scientists - to find the possibility of converting nanosurfaces into coatings that can absorb ultraviolet radiation. This will help not only to increase the number of objects using the new technology, but also significantly expand the scope of its application.
