New electric bus Mercedes-Benz eCitaro
Concern Daimler presented a new city bus on the electric drive Mercedes-Benz eCitaro.
The manufacturer is well known for its activity in the production of electric vehicles. A little less than a year ago, they were presented with an all-electric truck.
The new model is an electric version of the well-known Citaro bus. According to the manufacturers, 50,000 Citaro have already been sold worldwide.
Mercedes-Benz eCitaro is equipped with 335 horsepower electric motors, torque is 970 Nm. The car is also equipped with 10 units, consisting of lithium-ion batteries, the capacity of each unit is 25 kWh. The total capacity of all units is almost 245 kW-hours.
Part of the modules is located on the roof of the vehicle, part - in the rear compartment. The number of modules depends on the configuration, its simplest version involves six modules, the most “advanced” - ten. The presence of a large number of modules, of course, affects the weight of the car.The model in the maximum configuration weighs almost 13.5 tons.
The novelty is planned to be exhibited in German Hannover as part of the specialized exhibition IAA Commercial Vehicles, which will be held in September this year. The very same production starts a few months later. Daimler representatives have already announced the pre-order of 20 buses for Hamburg.
