Specialists of the dental center at the University of Colombia have become the authors of a new invention that facilitates the patient's visit to the dentist. We are talking about unique dental chairs that allow you to monitor a person’s condition and measure the level of stress.

It is no secret that people do not favor dentists, despite the fact that today, treatment and removal of teeth is practically painless. A visit to the dentist is postponed until the last, and meanwhile, any delay has a very negative effect on the patient's oral cavity.

The Center for Precise Dentistry became a medical institution, whose specialists were among the first to realize the need to smooth out all the unpleasant moments of visiting a dentist and began to work in this direction. Already, patients of the center receive special bracelets upon admission to the clinic, identifying them during the visit.And so, over the next few months, chairs will appear in the medical institution that monitor the psychological state of patients.

Thanks to the novelty, all information about the state of health will be passed on to the doctor automatically. So, if you feel pain, you don’t have to make any warning sounds or try to wave your arms. In addition, cameras recording each visit will be installed in the chairs. In the future, it is planned to introduce face recognition technology into the system.

The purpose of the new invention is to alleviate the condition of patients during their visits to the dentist and to bring the treatment process as close as possible to a single standard.

Over time, new seats will be able to evaluate not only the psychological state of a person, but also his overall health. Built-in systems will be able to measure sugar levels, check pressure, and diagnose problems of the cardiovascular system. Thus, it will be possible to “catch” the first signs of serious irregularities during an ordinary procedure of inspection of the oral cavity.
