Why the boiler does not heat the water
Such a household appliance as a water heater is very popular. Convenient and not demanding to maintain, it has found its application both in private houses and apartments. However, not everything is as smooth as it may seem, and sometimes the owners are faced with incorrect equipment operation. The reasons that, for example, hot water does not come from the boiler when the faucet is opened, may be different. If problems occur, do not panic and change the device to a new one; in most cases, failures can be repaired.
Filter blockage
The prologue of the water heater passes through a large amount of water. To protect the internal parts of the device from foreign elements and water debris, the design provides for installation prefilter. Due to the nature of its work, the filter is subject to periodic contamination. Rusty pipes, dirty water form dense formations on the mesh strip that interfere with the flow of the liquid.
The fault is eliminated after thorough cleaning under running water. For this you need:
- unscrew the cap of the flask using a special key;
- remove the mesh gasket and eliminate contamination;
If the blockage is too tight, you can use Dishwashing detergents. Do not leave the mesh soaked in the solution with the agent, just apply it to the sponge and wipe the part. After that, you need to install the filter in place, repeating all actions in the reverse order.
To prevent blockages in the future, experts recommend to purchase an additional filter.
Scale and sediment
Often used in water heaters open type heating element. One of its features is the need for regular cleaning. It should be carried out at least once a year, otherwise the salt formations can block the hole intended for the flow of fluid from the pipeline. In addition, excessive scale formation can even disable the heating elements.To make the flow of hot water from the water heater go well, do the following:
- remove the protective cover;
- gently disconnect the wiring connected to the ten;
- remove the heating element and carefully descale it by placing it in a solution of citric acid;
- wash the inside walls of the storage tank thoroughly;
- check the integrity of the magnesium anode, if necessary, replace it with a new one.
Contamination mixer
The fluid will flow in a weak stream if mixer spout a congestion has formed. The pressure will be equally bad for both cold and hot water. A number of procedures are needed to correct the problem.
- Shut off the riser to turn off the water.
- Carefully dismantle the mixer.
- Unscrew the spout from the common body.
- Remove the mesh and rinse it under running water. In case of formation of salt deposits or dense pollution, let it soak in a special cleaning solution.
- Rinse the mixer spout well and clean the inside of the dirt with a brush.
- Assemble the mixer in the reverse order and reinstall it.Do not forget to open the riser.
This procedure may take some time, as an alternative, you can simply change the clogged mixer to a new one. Experts recommend replacing worn parts every few years to avoid serious damage in the future.
A filter system installed on the pipes connecting the system to the water heater will help to avoid further contamination.
Other reasons
Below we describe the less common faults in which no desired water comes from the water heater.
- Valve failure. No matter how trite it sounds, but in order for the water to come from the tap, valves must work. In the boiler there are special taps responsible for the supply of hot and cold water intake. Breaking one of them disrupts the entire system. Replace the broken part and the damage will be eliminated.
- Pipe clogging. Poor quality or just dirty water leads to the formation of various deposits and accumulations of debris. Because of this, the nozzles may be blocked by an impermeable to water barrier - especially often this happens in the bends of pipes.Experts recommend replacing communications from outdated materials with polypropylene ones, as well as strengthening the system of purification of tap water.
- Jamming check valve. This happens as a result of hitting foreign objects. Usually to eliminate the valve completely disassemble and develop the stem. Before the procedure, it is necessary to drain all the liquid from the storage tank.
- Pressure problems. One of the reasons why hot water does not flow from the tap may be low pressure in the water supply. Liquid is taken from the top of the reservoir and is set in motion only due to pressure. To check, you can open the faucet with cold water, and if the problem persists, you should contact the utilities.
- Broken pressure regulator. Without this part hot water will not come from the mixer. The fact that the cumulative boiler gives the same level of pressure, which was received at the entrance. When the pressure in the faucet is stable, and the hot water still does not flow out of the faucet, it is necessary to check the pressure reducer. If there is a problem in it, adjust the device or simply replace it with a new one.
As you can see, most problems can be successfully repaired at home.However, it is better to call a specialist who can provide professional assistance.
