How to find out the exact model of your TV
In the process of using the TV, the question often arises how to find out its exact model, series or year of production. This information may be needed when ordering parts, contacting a service center, as well as when purchasing any additional modules, for example, digital set-top boxes or media players. Full details are indicated on the nameplate under the label “Model” or “Model». In some situations, it is missing, or the panel can be fixed to the wall on the brackets. To solve the problem in such a situation is quite simple - the marking can be viewed through menu of the device itself.

Search for the necessary information through the menu
When access to the nameplate is unavailable or overwritten, the necessary information can be viewed through the menu of the TV itself. The algorithm is the same for both conventional panels and for Smart TV.
Samsung (Samsung)
Open the device menu, select the “Support” tab, and then the “Contact Samsung” item. Marking will be indicated in the “Model Code” or “Model Cod” field. Learn more from the article on setting up smart tv on samsung tvs.
LG (AlG)
The answer to the question is presented on manufacturer's official website: you need to open the LG TV menu, select “Settings”, then “Diagnostics” where the model, software version is indicated.
Philips (Philips)
To find out the code through the menu of Philips TVs, you need to enter the CSM menu. To do this, switch the panel to view normal terrestrial channels (even if they are not connected), dial the combination 123654. Tab "Set Type" - model (code) of the TV, tab "Production code" contains information about which series the Philips panel.
In other brands of TVs, the principle of determining the panel code is similar to that described above. It is necessary to open the menu, find the items “Settings”, “Options”, “Advanced”, “Properties”, where certain information will be presented. Knowing how the TV labeling looks like, finding out the exact one is not difficult: the serial numbers contain much more characters, and the type of device is smaller.
How to decrypt the code
The marking contains various information about the device itself. Which one can be determined by the example of the Samsung LE-40B530 P7W LCD-TV.
- The panel code begins with the type designation: L - LCD, P - plasma, C - CRT (CRT), U - LED panel with Ultra HD, E - OLED.
- The next letter matches sales region (distribution of these devices): E - Europe, N - North America, A - Asia.
- The field is written two digits, they indicate Screen size in inches, for example in the Samsung model written above - 40 "(find out how to choose the optimal diagonal your TV).
- The letter designation, which is written after the screen size, means year of issue (sometimes it corresponds to the TV series), it is customary to count it off from 2008: A - 2008, B – 2009, and so on.
- After the year of release, there is a figure designating the series number, then the sub-series number, then the model number (within the sub-series).
As a rule, this is all the information that the Samsung TV model contains. Marking of other brands sometimes reflects a complete set, some technical features. Next on the nameplate indicate the country of manufacture, serial number, type and code of the product, the contact numbers of the "hot line" barcode.
It should be noted that the decoding of a code of another brand may differ; only the size of the diagonal remains unchanged - it is always indicated at the beginning of the model.
