Projector on the windshield of the car is a special device that displays the image from the dashboard just below the level of the driver's eyes. What is it for

"Head Up Display" - this is the name of this device in English, which literally translates as "Head Up Display". According to manufacturers, such a projector on the windshield allows the driver to fully concentrate on the road and not be distracted by monitoring the dashboard to track key performance indicators: number of revolutions, speed, fuel consumption, etc.

More advanced models allow you to project not only basic, but also additional information. For example:

• tachometer readings;
• cruise control mode;
• view from the infrared night vision camera;
• navigator and others

Such a device significantly increases driving safety due to the fact that the driver ceases to take his eyes off the road and can react in a timely manner to the traffic situations that have arisen.

The automobile HUD projector is installed on the dashboard and fixed on it with the help of special fastening elements. In addition to the device itself and the mounting mechanisms, the kit includes a special glass designed to display the projected image.

Types of HUD Displays

Like most types of technology, the projector on the automobile windshield has its own criterion by which they are classified. Depending on the functional purpose, there are three types of equipment.

1. Multimedia display. This model of the projector, in addition to the graphic display of information, notifies the driver if any of the indicators exceeds the established rate. So, you can set the maximum allowable speed, and, if it is exceeded, the device will promptly notify the driver.
   

2. Speed ​​projector. The simplest from a technical point of view, the model of the device. The only functionality is the projection of the speed of the car and other key indicators on the windshield. It does not have any additional features.
   
3. Display navigator. In addition to the main indicators, this model can carry out navigation activities and project the location of your car on the windshield. As a rule, such models, among other things, can reproduce both audio and video information from a reader.
   

Installing a HUD Projector

You can connect this device in two ways:

• through the car cigarette lighter;
• through the onboard computer.

The simplest option is to connect the projector through car cigarette lighter. To do this, connect the power cord of the device with the cigarette lighter of the car. Adjusting the position of the projector and sticking special film will not cause you much difficulty.

Please note that the special film should be glued only on a clean and undeformed surface.Otherwise, there is an opportunity to get an ugly and fuzzy picture.
