How to safely and properly install a microwave
The main dilemma that confronts most housewives in the kitchen is where it is best to install a microwave (microwave). Where to put it, so that it is convenient to use, and that it does not interfere with the work of other kitchen appliances. And is it possible to put a microwave on the surface of the dishwasher, especially if the size of the kitchen is small. With the placement of large units, such as a refrigerator, gas stove or washing machine, usually there are no problems, but many people think about the correct placement of microwaves.
Microwaves with a variety of additional functions usually have considerable dimensions, and installing them in a small room can be quite problematic.

Where can I install a microwave oven
The best place for such furnaces is workers. surfaces of tables or cabinets. They can also be placed under the countertop or in a closet. The main thing is not to disturb the ventilation devices. But if there is not enough space in the kitchen, and that the oven does not take up the surface required for cutting and cutting food, it is often combined with other devices. But here we must adhere to certain technical rules, namely:
- When installing a microwave near a window (or on a wide window sill), it is necessary to trace the presence of a convenient outlet nearby. It is important that the window sash on the side of the stove be deaf.
- Placing such a furnace on the windowsill, it is necessary to remove all indoor plants from it, so that electromagnetic waves do not affect their viability.
- When installing a microwave oven on a dishwasher, it is necessary to insert a restrictive thermo-insulating stand between the devices and make sure that the operating time of both devices is delimited.
- It is not recommended to install a microwave oven near gas meters, because the electromagnetic waves emitted by a microwave oven negatively affect the correctness of gas meters and can even disable them.
- Installing a microwave on the fridge (if it is not high) it is also necessary to provide limiting supports from non-heat-conducting materials in order not to damage the refrigeration unit.
- When deciding to install a microwave oven on the washing machine (if she, of course, has front loading type), it is necessary to remember that it is impossible to put objects weighing more than 15 kg on it, and therefore it is very important to know the weight of the microwave oven being installed.
In the latter case, it is necessary to take into account that washing machines have a large vibration, as a result of which the microwave can move along the surface and even fall (you should definitely provide a rubber mat under the microwave device that prevents from slipping).
It is best to use special brackets to hang the microwave in any convenient place.
If, by the way, to put the stove on a rubber mat, it is necessary to take into account that its legs do not sink, but there is enough space for ventilation. Therefore, it is not recommended to put anything on top of the microwave.
It should also be remembered that the electromagnetic waves emitted by a microwave can affect the electronic unit of washing machines (and almost all of them now have program control).And although many of these devices have special internal reflectors embedded in the housing, it would be better to avoid such a neighborhood (for more details, see the articlemicrowave installation rules: neighborhood with other appliances).
On the technical side of the installation of microwaves
Installing such ovens on dishwashers or washing machines, you should pay attention to such moments:
- It is necessary to make sure that the depth of the microwave corresponds to the depth of the units on which its installation is supposed. If the depth of the oven is greater than that of a dishwasher, for example, or a refrigerator, then its legs will hang down and ventilation may be impaired.
- To reduce vibration, the microwave must be installed on a rubber mat.
- When the microwave device is placed on a dishwasher or washing machine, it should be connected only to a separate outlet (without using an extension cord).
- Although the proximity of these technical devices is not very desirable, when combining them, it must be remembered that the microwave and dishwasher have heating surfaces and therefore you should try to use heat-insulating materials betweenthem.
Recommendations and cautions
So, is it possible to install a microwave oven on a dishwasher? We found that the answer is positive.
Compared with other types of kitchen appliances, the placement of microwave ovens is most favorable on dishwashers, which are less susceptible to heating and various types of vibrations.
It is not recommended to install microwave ovens:
- in sinks, in order to avoid hit in them of water;
- on high refrigerators, due to the inconvenience of using them;
- on TVs, so as not to damage them;
- over gas stoves to avoid additional overheating.
The more responsible you take the process installation of microwave devices in the kitchen, the less there can be problems with malfunctions in the work of kitchen appliances. And serve the microwave will be long and smoothly.
